The Chicago Tribune:
Do you get a lot of (female rockers) coming up to you for advice?
A: The advice I would give is, don’t let it stop with your sexuality, because that will pass, that will be something you’ll become tired of trumpeting. And if you want to have a career — if you want to have a long, decent, meaningful, creative career — you have to start speaking from your soul as well as your body. … It’s hard to explain to younger women whose hormones are raging and who think the most powerful they can be is to show their butts and … go out there and say “(expletive) me.” That’s a fine message, but it’s a very superficial message. People have been saying that for centuries, you know. Hookers say that.
