Blabbermouth: In a new interview with Nancy discussed a possible follow-up to the band’s latest album, 2016’s “Beautiful Broken”. She said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I go through these phases. Like right now I’m in a phase of really feeling like creating some new songs. And I’ve got songs going on. But I feel like this is the perfect time for HEART — like this year, next year — to make a victory lap out of our legacy. So I figure we need to make one more HEART album. And especially with these players that we have in the lineup right now in this band. We’re just really excited to play together, and there’s no kind of limits on what we could kind of pull off as musicians. So I’ve got a few songs, and Ann’s working with those guys in her side band right now writing other songs. But I think I’m gonna want to make the last HEART album and do the victory lap and make 2027 mainly about the HEART film, the HEART documentary.”
Updated February 28th 2026: Nancy: Yeah, we are getting what probably is going to be our final [screenplay] draft handed to us for the Heart film from Carrie Brownstein from the band Sleater-Kinney and the show Portlandia with Fred Armisen. Hopefully we’ll start casting for that soon. Plus we’re looking at making a Heart album and a Heart documentary at the same time. So we kind of have couple years left in us probably to do a 2027 farewell tour.
Updated March 5th 2026: (Nancy) Wilson said Heart is working on a new album. It will be a mix of music from Ann Wilson’s backing band, Tripsitter, pieces Nancy Wilson wrote with Sue Ennis, and music the Wilson sisters will create together.
Updated March 9th 2026: inforum.com: The end of the tour will come with a little downtime, but the Wilson sisters will keep busy. The rest of the year they will be helping in a biopic about the band. There’s also a separate documentary they are aiding with. On top of that, the group is working on its first album of new material in 10 years.
Updated March 17th 2026: Variety: Beyond the screening tour, Wilson will be doing dates this summer with her side band, Tripsitter, in Japan, Australia and Hawaii, before Heart returns to the road in 2027. “I don’t stop working,” she says.

Heart studio album: Nancy […] can’t help but giddily tease […] a nearly finished “really, really strong” new Heart album. “It really feels like a Heart record. … It’s all about these songs. It’s what we were born to do, and do together,” Nancy says proudly. “Hopefully ‘27 and ‘28 will be the year for Heart world domination, basically.” […] “The Heart album is almost finished up now, and the photo shoot was happening, so I was like, “I gotta get my pink on for the Heart thing,” because the recording’s all done. Yeah, it’s really, really strong. I think it’s going to be great. We wrote a bunch of new songs and recorded down in Nashville with the players that we just played the last tour with. It was like a secondhand thing with each other because we’ve played so many live shows, so the album was pretty much recorded live. The last album 10 years ago was called Beautiful Broken. … Before that, Fanatic and Red Velvet Car were the last two studio albums. So, yeah, it’s crazy! I’m really happy. It really feels like a Heart record.” “Well, we’re delivering it at the end of August. And so, with the world tour to set up and a documentary film to work on and a live-action feature film and an album and a tour and a new management company, we’re getting all of those ducks in a row, so that we can strategize the rollout.” […] “Ann’s doing well now. We just recorded the album, and she sounds amazing. We did 118 shows together, which were great. So, she’s fine. […] And it’s really added a lot to her expressive way of singing these days. I think it’s my favorite Ann Wilson sound on this new album that I’ve maybe ever heard, because she’s always been so pyrotechnical-capable, she had no limits to what range and what kind of whizzing-around fireworks she could accomplish, but in her current state of play as a singer, it’s way more translatable. There’s a humanity and an expression to it now that’s much more fulfilling to listen to, I think, than all of the vocal pyrotechnics of the past. When you think of Ann, you think of almost like a banshee singer. She’s not a crooner now either, she still punches beautifully and she’s still got a range, but I think she just interprets stuff better, now that she’s been through such a lot of living. You really hear the pearls of wisdom in there now, more than they ever were. As a singer, she’s just more soulful these days. […] I got to Nashville to finish up some songwriting together that we’d been doing remotely with our collaborator, Sue Ennis. […]
Heart Biopic: Nancy […] (about) Heart’s own forthcoming, long-delayed new biopic […]. Well, since then the pandemic happened. And Lynda Obst unfortunately passed away. She was one of the Mount Rushmore producers in the movie industry for a long time. The original lunch I had with her before the pandemic was about, “There needs to be a Heart film. My granddaughter who’s 12 is a huge Heart fan and she wants to learn guitar and wants to be in a band, and this would be a film for them” — for the next generation of not just girls, but musicians coming in. And then the pandemic and a lot of different back-and-forth with management and different stuff just kind of blockaded the process for a long time. But I just now got off the phone with Julie Oh, who was the replacement for Lynda Obst, and we’re back on track with Carrie Brownstein for the next draft, the final draft, to hopefully get this thing rolling again. Sometimes good things take time, but we’re back on the tracks with it. […] There have been a lot of actresses that were excited to be asked to play the parts of me and my sister. But we haven’t got that far yet. We need the final draft. […] I think maybe Elle Fanning would be a really good (for Nancy). I think Florence Pugh would be real good for Ann. But there are a lot of cool young actors coming up right now that could do it. I don’t know who would play the older version, because there’s a big lifespan! I think, though, the story mainly just goes from the beginning to probably [Heart’s 2012 Led Zeppelin tribute at] the Kennedy Center. There’s enough of an arc right there to kind of cover it all. […] The working title has been Blood Harmony for a while, but that’s also another band name, a really cool band of sisters in country music.
Heart Documentary: Nancy […] (about) the Heart documentary: “It’s about the band Heart, because Ann already put out a little Ann Wilson documentary by herself [In My Voice]. We were waiting for that to get done before we proceeded with the larger one — put the Heart train back on track for next year, mainly. Hopefully ‘27 and ’28 will be the year for Heart world domination, basically.”
I t sounds like Heart is going to eventually be “wrapping it up” as a band. (Please don’t.) As poems are popular around here, wrapping it up reminds me of this poem.
