AdelaideNow.Com: Heart released a cover of John Farnham’s “You’re the Voice” in 1990 after hearing the song in a cab in London a few years earlier. They’ve now added it to their US set – where their joint tour with Def Leppard began earlier this year. “That song is still so relevant, it may as well have been written yesterday,” Wilson says of “You’re the Voice”. “We haven’t played it for so long. It’s making us feel good, it’s fresh for us, it’s fun. We fell in love with that song, we took it into our world. We’ve never forgotten it.” Heart’s Australian tour overlaps with Farnham’s Whispering Jack 25 Years On tour. Wilson is keen to meet up with The Voice. “I hope we’ll get a chance to cross paths. If we’re on tour at the same time doing the same song that’s got to be some kind of sign, surely,” she says. Plus, this was said about the upcoming book: The sisters are in the middle of being interviewed for an official biography written by Charles Cross, a Seattle writer who wrote acclaimed books on Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix. Wilson says the book will surprise as well as inform. “We’re not holding a bunch of stuff back,” she says. “It’s not only the story of Heart, but the story of my sister and myself and our lives. “Talking to someone like Charles about your life is almost like being in therapy, or doing counselling. It’s not just the ups and downs and all the sex and drugs and rock and roll, although it will contain that, it’s more a woman’s story.”
