Later this summer, Heart will release their first new studio album in six years. It’s called Red Velvet Car and has the Wilson sisters taking an acoustic approach to a set of songs inspired by the world around them. Nancy Wilson told us that going acoustic is natural for the band.
“We always had a duality, much like Zeppelin did where they could sit down and play acoustic and do stuff like ‘Going to California’ or they could get on the big stage too. So we’ve always had that same kind of ethic in our band to be versatile like that.”
Expect to hear a variety of instruments on the set, including guitar, mandolin, dobro, banjo, fiddle, viola, cello and autoharp, all played by Nancy and the album’s producer, Ben Mink. The record comes out on August 31st but before then, you can hear Heart play some songs off the effort live. Heart-Music.com has all of the group’s dates.
Here’s a little seed to go with “ a little sun a little rain “.
