This post will keep track of the setlist and relevant changes the band makes. Also, a couple of pictures of the merchandise have appeared.
Setlist
The first shows of this tour are a continuation of the 2019 shows and the three late 2023 shows, but with less Led Zeppelin covers. Ann & Nancy have talked about excluding all covers, but that seems less likely now. Also, their output as Heart from this century is overlooked. A typical setlist for a full show is: Bebe Le Strange, Never, Magic Man, Little Queen, Love Alive, This Is Now (Ann Wilson & Tripsitter cover), Straight On / Let’s Dance, These Dreams, Dog & Butterfly, Dreamboat Annie, Going to California, 4 Edward (Nancy Wilson song), Mistral Wind, Alone / What About Love, Barracuda and an encore of The Ocean and Crazy on You. A new song “Roll the Dice” can pop up as well. Also the order of the songs can change. A festival set is shorter.

Merchandise
Heartmonger Greg Perry also made these pictures from the merchandise being sold at the first show and was kind enough to give permission to share:

And the following pictures were found on Facebook (Aaron S):

It seems that the “Roll the Dice” lyrics are not yet set in stone. I saw one video with Ann singing the song, and the “cup of coffee” has morphed into a “glass of beer”. Other lyric changes were also in that video. Are those changes from Ann’s input ?
Let’s see if it is played at all tonight!
Well, there have been more lyric changes to “Roll the Dice”. The first-half of the song seems very stable. The last-half is definitely in flux.
I prefer “a cup of coffee”, to a “glass” or “cup of beer”. “Coffee” seems more innocent, as in wanting to have a first little date. “Beer” seems more like a pick-up attempt at a bar.
“Ditch the keys” has a single straight forward meaning. But, “give me the keys” can have a dual meaning. (The Band has used illustrations/posters, that show key locks on a heart.)
I’m not even sure what’s being attempted with the other changes. The ‘in-public’ writing of a song does add interest to a concert.
So, where will this song go next ???
“Roll the Dice” is a blatant invitation song. Heart has so many invitation songs. (I’m always confused about who is being invited? and for what exactly? Remember RSVP?)
I’ve been in a poetry mood lately, especially since getting my new poetry book. So, I wrote a poem in response to “Roll the Dice”. I call it “A Little Song”:
A Little Song
You write a little song, and call it
“Banging on the Door”.
You’ve written several others, you say are
“Pounding Knocks and More”.
But,
A neighbor who says they saw you
Said,
“She walked along the sidewalk
And rattled the picket gate.”
A little shake of wooden fences,
Will never change one’s fate!
