Drink’s On the House! – Guest Post from Video Connoisseur™

. . . Let’s celebrate a glorious jam from these 3 trailblazing rockers, Nancy Wilson, Liv Warfield, and Felicia Collins, recorded at the Global Citizen Festial! Queued on the following youtube video is the moment Felicia Collins of Paul Shaffer and the World’s Most Dangerous Band (David Letternman’s long-time house band), chimes in for the guitar solo Nancy made famous for Even It Up – listen:
MarchofTheRashbaum
Yeeeees! Girl power ecstasy!!! Three rockers with hard-won industry cred side-by-side in one of the potent hard rock anthems of all time! Congratulations, to Felicity Collins, Nancy Wilson, and Liv Warfield for setting high goals and inspiring the rest of us!

Roadcase Royale is the happening ticket for energetic opener for Bob Seger, or solo appearances between tour dates, which have Roadcase Royale playing to packed or sold out venues. Here are my favorite live captures, where the band plays tight, and front woman Liv jumps around the stage, dancing, playing tambourine, singing behind the beat, and powering through standards and new tunes:

Has a swampy groove, would you agree?

Michael Songco
Irresistible rhythm immerses the listener. This live version could go on 20 minutes, instead of the 2 1/2 Michael Songco captured! Still, thanx!

Insaniac

How about that 2 minute solo by Ryan Waters at the end? This one is captivating the critics. Gus from Back Stage Axxess wrote:

“Insaniac” might be the most complete track on “First Things First.” This hard rocking blues based song has both Wilson and Waters playing off each other, bringing out the best in Waters.

Never Say Die TDHS posted on an earlier blog entry. Liv’s vocals flow like molasses on that tune!

The Dragon from the March show:
– the CalVid Youtube Channel capture has good sound quality.

Check out Felicia Collins’ Hole in My Heart at a benefit:|Black Rock Coalition TV
Amazing! Sings beautiful and with feeling – what a talent!

Last but not least, Bob Seger is my hero for giving Roadcase its chance. There is overlap in my taste with Bob Seger’s cover of Lou Reed’s Busload of Faith, from his up-and-coming album. Enjoy a recent live performance, here:
sunspotbaby1962 Youtube Channel
Cool cover! SunSpotBaby1962 posted the whole concert for the armchair concert goers to get a sample of this historical tour! His hosting Nancy and her band made me listen and discover this amazing group, Bob Seger and his band.

Only acts which are on my radar are the ones that gain notice from Video Connoisseur™. Now, Felicia Collins and Bob Seger are on my radar. Video Connoisseur™ is a collection of fan captures or other live video captures. Like paparazzi shots capture the real appearance of a celebrity, instead of a studio photo by a professional photographer, after hair and makeup artists and stylists alter and tweak, live performances are the snapshot of the real band! It’s an exciting time for live enthusiasts, with youtube uploads, with tv appearances which take on historical significance, of past contributers to the music scene, and current artists, who are easy to video record by phone. I enjoy and have the ability to put myself in the little screen, and lose myself in recorded concerts and I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! Lana Del Rey’s career certainly been enhanced by audiences who are like me. We enjoy video captures of her live performances by other devoted fans. Her fans must comprise that segment of lonely people who lose themselves online, like me. Artists of today adapt to the release of the iPhone in 2007. It opens new possibilities! I listen on PC using SeaMonkey browser and headphones on only my left (good) ear, at 25% PC volume, and yank the Youtube volume to near silent. Thankfully, Youtube remembers your volume setting – low volume is loud enough for my sensitive ears!

Hope you enjoyed this curated list of videos presented here by kind invitation of TDHS, the administrator of Heartlinker.nl, who let me share! Heartlinker.nl is my go-to site for fan news about Heart.

VideoConnoisseur.com has more videos on my radar, mostly female singer / acoustic guitar. Watch them on Youtube, because the sound is better. Thanx.

  1. Ben Smith played incredible drums on Insaniac! That’s my fav. The band sounds good! Not being a musician, I can’t say all the ingredients that make up the sound, all I know.
