The label Friday Music, that has already brought us vinyl re-releases of Dreamboat Annie, Little Queen and Heart, is now really making us all look for more storage space by releasing four colored vinyls in the USA. At the moment no international outlets are carrying the releases, unlike the releases before these. Even more of a challenge is the fact that three of them are supposed to be currently only available at ccvinyl.com, claiming to be the exclusive seller.

Here’s a picture of the Translucent Gold Vinyl Little Queen

Disastrous. Colored vinyl is impure (white vinyl has some black streaks, blue vinyl has a few white streaks). Reproduction of the sleeves is calamitous. D&B isn’t centred (ie. the blue border to the left and right are shockingly unequal). Friday have added a black dot in the centre of the lamp on Passionworks! And the lyrics should be purple, rather than black. I understand the band oversaw the mastering. They should have stuck around for the pressing. If anyone’s seen the recent Queen vinyl box, that’s an example of what can be achieved if it’s done carefully. These Heart discs are the opposite of that.
It seems the popularity of vinyl is causing the labels to push as many products as fast as they can.
I hope they continue to release the Colored Vinyl for more of their albums.
The sound of 180 Gram is Phenomenal.
Thanks HEART!
