This classic Seattle band is the all-time best female-fronted outfit – at least the best that doesn’t have Joan Jett or Deborah Harry in its lineup. Ann and Nancy Wilson go the quieter route on album 13, their first in six years. “WTF” is a classic rocker in the “Crazy On You” mode, but mostly these 10 tunes feature mandolin, fiddle, dobro and other acoustic instruments. Ann, at age 60, can still hit those freakish high notes with ease and guitarist Nancy shines throughout, especially on the song to download, “Saffronia’s Mark.”
