I´ll be posting pics, video´s and stories from yesterday’s appearance of Heart at the Benefit for the LA Gay & Lesbian Center on May 1st 2010, in this post.
First a link to Shewired.com where you´ll find a bunch of shaky video´s from Heart´s show among others. Click on the menu button in the video to navigate to the other nine video´s. Thanx a lot to Nikayla for finding these vids :)
Second a few lines from a report posted on the official bulletinboard by management: The ladies did the red carpet and spoke to the various media outlets. People Mag, E!, EW, vh1 to name a few.Ann and Nancy and Craig did an acoustic-ey performance. Started with Barracuda ~ and dedicated it to Linda, because she said that and Dog and Butterfly were her favorite songs. Followed by Hey You Next was Sand, and they told the crowd it was a true story, that they wrote the song for a friend who had succumbed to AIDS. (goosebump central) They ended with Crazy on You … And received a standing ovation. Thanx MS!
Third a series of shots from the red carpet!

Fourth, from ontheredcarpet.com:
“We got a new album, said Nancy. “It’s called Red Velvet Car. And it’s going to come out after the summer tour, so at the end of the summer.” Click on the link to see a video!
Fifth, from greginhollywood.com:
HEARTFELT PERFORMANCE: It was absolute heaven to be treated to a four-song set from Heart.Ann and Nancy Wilson were in great form treating the crowd to their classic hit Barracuda and a few songs from their new album Red Velvet Car. Among the new material was a moving song called Sand about a friend of the Wilson sisters who lost a long battle with AIDS. Ann Wilson told me before the show how impressed she is with the LA Gay & Lesbian Center’s work and that she wished there was a similar depth of services in Seattle where she lives.

Sixth, from Ineedmyfix.com:
A couple of hilarious shots and a couple of the performance!

Seventh: the best picture, but this time without watermark! (forgot where from)

Eight; a whole series of red carpet shots at AP, here’s a couple of examples:

Ninth; an interview from AfterEllen.com
AfterEllen: What can you tell me about your new album?
Ann Wilson: It’s called Red Velvet Car, and it’s coming out after we tour for it this summer.
AE: What’s a red velvet car?
Ann Wilson: A red velvet car is a soul ambulance. It’s that friend that comes and picks you up when you’re standing alone in the rain at rock bottom. Or if something has happened to you and you really need help and you reach out, that’s the person that comes to get you.
AE: Is that what the album is about, friendships you’ve formed along the way when you’ve needed them?
AW: Quite a few of the songs are about life experiences of change and pulling yourself out and up.
AE: What does an event like this mean to you?
AW: I’m really honored to be here. That Linda would have asked us to come here and be part of this. I’ve got so many friends who are gay and I know so many young people through my daughter’s crowd who have had bad troubles and have nowhere to go.
AE: If you were going to dedicate “Barracuda” to anyone here tonight, who would it be?
AW: I’d dedicate it to Linda Perry.
Tenth, an interview with Ann & Nancy about American Idol at the LAtimes.com:
Usher recently reportedly said that shows like “American Idol” are ruining the music business. What’s your take on that? Read the answers here….
Eleventh, StarPulse treats us to another batch of red carpet shots and here’s an example:
