Nancy: 80 shows starting this Fall!

Bob and Nancy

Nancy was a guest on the TuneIn podcast with Bob Lefsetz very recently and after diving into Heart’s past and Heart’s current situation (which has been written out here), she talks about the plans for Roadcase Royale:

Bob: You’re going out on tour opening for Seger?

Nancy: Yeah, we started the tour opening for Seger a few months ago and we had to postpone it. […] So it’s not cancelled. We’re going back out in the Fall after Labor Day. Probably at least 80 dates [..] We don’t have the dates yet. The commitment is for everything they can get us and it’s all arenas.

Ann Wilson interviewed by KEXP

Ann Wilson

KEXP: What do you enjoy about playing live at places like the Emerald Queen Casino?

Ann: The main thing about playing a show, no matter where it is, is being with people. I don’t really qualify people in terms of the venue they’re inside of. When you’re up on stage, doing music, it’s really all about working and connecting with people. The rest of the world kind of goes away. So, I feel good about playing there. That particular show is going to be sold out and there’s going to be people I know there.

I’m doing two shows on the west coast partly because I’m going down to L.A. to start working on a new record. So I wanted to do a little playing with my band in the northwest before we break down and go to the studio. After the studio, we’re going into Paul Rogers mode. These are going to be the last two shows — in Tacoma and outside of Portland — that we’ll do the same thing we’ve been doing for the last year. Then we’ll be closing up one incarnation before we open the next. I just feel great about it.

KEXP: What can you tell me about the new record?

Ann: The concept of the record is that all the songs are written by people who just recently died. So, I’m honoring Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Leonard Cohen, Tom Petty and a few others. It’s just a really great experience to get to thank them and to get back in the studio on my own. It’s only the second time ever I’ll be on my own — I did a solo album in 2007 called Hope & Glory — so I’m looking forward to it. I’ll be working with the original Heart producer, Lex Luger, who did the first five records with Heart. He and I are getting back together, that’s going to be a blast.

Nancy: Heart might tour in 2018

Nancy spoke to LA radiostation The Sound and said:

“There’s an offer on the table for the summer of 2018 and I think we’re probably gonna be doing that. A big headlining tour.”

Added June 1st 2017:

To VintageRock she said:

I know Heart is on hiatus for the time being. Anything you can say about the future of the band?

Right now, there’s an offer for a headlining 2018 summer tour. I’d be very happy to do that. Right now, I’m not sure what’s in Ann’s head about any of that right now. I’m just hoping for the best because Heart’s a great band and I like being in it. Ann’s sort of getting her other creative itch scratched right now, doing all different kinds of things other than the Heart type thing. I guess time will tell. I just have my fingers crossed for the summer of 2018.

Roadcase Royale:

Any plans for more touring?

We got a big offer [for Roadcase Royale] that we’re going to announce, once we know for sure it’s on. It’s a big tour, big arenas, about 25 shows, with the potential addendum of 20, 30 more. I’m really excited because we’re ready to hit the road. It will start in the middle of September and go about two months.
