Roadcase Royale performs The Dragon followed by cover of Stevie Wonder’s All In Love Is Fair (5:15) live in concert at The Canyon, Agoura Hills, Los Angeles County, CA on June 1, 2017. Nancy wrote The Dragon decades ago for her dearly departed friend Alice of Chains singer Layne Stanley in response to his heroin addiction but the song hadn’t been recorded. She also dedicated The Dragon to Seattle’s Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.
Thanx Louise!
Thanx for posting this – I want to keep an eye, or should I say, an ear, on the Dragon song, to hear how it evolves!
It made me look up the definition of dissonance. From Wikipedia:
What is consonance and dissonance in music?
Consonance and dissonance. Intervals are traditionally considered either consonant or dissonant. Consonant intervals are usually described as pleasant and agreeable. Dissonant intervals are those that cause tension and desire to be resolved to consonant intervals.

because I heard those type chords defined as dissonant, in other comments, on other acoustic guitar playing. They, that is, the chords Nancy composed for The Dragon, captivate me. The profound sadness they inspire fit the theme of the song! Good job, composer!
Louise I received your email. I’ll reply asap
Hi, Look forward to your reply! Thanx for your time.
Let me take this opportunity to correct the reference for the quote, above. It is:
