Ann Wilson has been named Leading Lady of AOR and finest female AOR singer alive. She leads the top 50 taking gold, where Stevie Nicks takes the silver and Pat Benatar takes the bronze. Cher is at number 7. The top 50 was published in the, rather expensive, newest edition of Classic Rock Magazine AOR, the special edition of Classic Rock Magazine, “Classic Rock Presents AOR 7: BOSTON”. This special issue features HEART: Their new LP is called Fanatic. We send AOR’s very own Heart fanatic, Siân Llewellyn, to chat with celebrated sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson.

Indeed the same issue not only features the top 50, but also a four page interview with Ann Wilson, where she tells about the new album Fanatic. the interview was done in New York city in October 2012. Most interesting quote:

It’s a different experience seeing them play on their home turf rather than on one of their sporadic visits to the UK – something which is “in our plan for 2013, definitely,” says Ann.

  1. I’m thrilled Ann (and Heart) is getting the kudos and recognition she has so long deserved! Ann has no peers in rock. She is like Aretha…a unique, totally individual, totally mind-boggling voice in music. No one comes close. There are lots of great singers out there…but there is only one Ann Wilson. :-)

  2. it is always going to start a lot of stuff when someone is called the best or voted number one – once in a while it happens for me I have my feelings and thoughts on a subject and female singer is near n dear to my heart. I read the rolling stone top 100 singers list and my thought was WHERE THE HELL IS ANN WILSON? but then I see this and I feel better
