Stranded

CBC.CA: The blizzard that whipped through Manitoba on Thursday was heartfelt, or rather, felt by Heart.

The rock band, headed by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, played a concert at Winnipeg’s MTS Centre that evening and was headed for a gig in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, when the bad weather forced them to overnight at a truck stop.

“We’ve been sitting here all night waiting for Route 1 [Trans-Canada Highway] to open up,” Donny Silva, the driver of one of the band’s tour buses, told CBC News Friday morning, moments before the barricades across the highway were removed.

“We have a show in Saskatchatoon that we will try to make but you never know. The weather was pretty brutal.”
