Ann Wilson’s Hope & Glory #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers

Ann’s new album has made a splash entry into the Billboard’s charts by entering at number 1 in the Heatseekers chart! Thanx to everyone for buying!! She entered the Billboard Albums 200 chart on # 107.

Also… if you pre-ordered from Rounder you’ll probably get one of the 1750 signed copies!

Thanx to Louise for the picture of the signed album!

Here’s the Billboard review for “Immigrant Song”: It’s natural for Ann Wilson to take a stab at “Immigrant Song,” considering her long-professed love for Led Zeppelin. And if anyone’s got the pipes to blow Robert Plant’s caterwaul through the roof, it’s Heart’s formidable frontwoman. So imagine the letdown when, instead of setting off a powerhouse wail, a la “Alone,” Wilson settles for subdued “ah-ah-ahs” relegated to the background. The revamped song holds back on Jimmy Page’s galloping licks until the finale, where smears of strings, pondering bass, crisp percussion and shakers at least propel the thundering track. Even those who grew up with Zeppelin will need a few moments before they recognize it. Distinctly modern, interestingly executed and — while wanna-be divas should still bow to Wilson’s fierce soprano — vocally puzzling.

  1. Hi, Since I enjoyed so many live performances on the internet between the ’99 acoustic duo Ann and Nancy’s ground-breaking tour [!] available on mediaevents.com – to youTube vintage performances of the original line-up, I thought I should BUY Ann’s CD, because how long can these wonderful live events be available? So I did the pre-order.

It arrived in a bubble wrap envelope with the Rounder catalog, and a separate insert with Ann’s signature in big silver magic marker! and the CD still secure-wrapped with the plastic pull. It’s hard to fathom Ann signed . . . 1700 of those? Wow! Nice presentation, lovely photos, lyrics, and introduction on the liner notes. It’s so nice I ordered one for my cousins without the signed liner notes, because there’s no more.

Here’s the photo – TDHS, would you post?

    Thanx!
